Summary of Job Duties:The Pharmacy Specialist will serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team representing UAMS Specialty Pharmacy Services. The specialist will provide pharmacy services with a focus on safety, efficacy, and positive outcomes.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
BS in Pharmacy or PharmD PLUS Licensed or eligible for licensure in Arkansas
One year applicable experience
Preferred Qualifications:
PharmD
Five years applicable experience
Board certified in applicable area (CSP, BCACP, BSPS)
PGY1 / PGY2 Residency
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
Recommends alternative treatments as necessary.
Facilitates specialty medication procurement, ordering and dispensing procedures.
Adopts practices to improve work processes.
Develops and implements systems to track outcomes and reporting of project activities.
Supports experiential education; creates documentation to be used in clinical trials on request.
Develops evidence-based academic, detailed informational material using computer software.
Participates in ongoing hospital performance assessment and process improvement; develops policy and procedures when appropriate.
Works in support of population health initiatives to identify, design, and implement improvement in the medication-use system to advance patient safety, maximize therapeutic outcomes, or control costs.
Performs other duties as requested.
