Summary of Job Duties:The Pharmacy Specialist will serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team representing UAMS Specialty Pharmacy Services. The specialist will provide pharmacy services with a focus on safety, efficacy, and positive outcomes.Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Pharmacy or PharmD PLUS Licensed or eligible for licensure in Arkansas

  • One year applicable experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PharmD

  • Five years applicable experience

  • Board certified in applicable area (CSP, BCACP, BSPS)

  • PGY1 / PGY2 Residency

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Recommends alternative treatments as necessary.

  • Facilitates specialty medication procurement, ordering and dispensing procedures.

  • Adopts practices to improve work processes.

  • Develops and implements systems to track outcomes and reporting of project activities.

  • Supports experiential education; creates documentation to be used in clinical trials on request.

  • Develops evidence-based academic, detailed informational material using computer software.

  • Participates in ongoing hospital performance assessment and process improvement; develops policy and procedures when appropriate.

  • Works in support of population health initiatives to identify, design, and implement improvement in the medication-use system to advance patient safety, maximize therapeutic outcomes, or control costs.

  • Performs other duties as requested.
