Job SummaryDepartment DescriptionStudent Housing and Dining Services (SHDS) is a self-supporting auxiliary that provides housing and dining services to approximately 15,000 undergraduate, graduate, and students with families who live in on-campus residential facilities (university owner/managed and Public-Private-Partnerships), as well as providing residential, retail and catering dining services for the campus community. Job SummaryReporting to the Assistant General Manager of Concessions and Catering Sales, coordinate all aspects of Catering, Companion, and Concession Sales. Enhances market position by developing, negotiating, and closing catering business with an emphasis on long-term relationship building and campus partnerships. Consults, coordinates, and communicates the vision and detailed expectations of guests/clients events in a logistical and detailed manner, resulting in exceeded guest/client satisfaction with an emphasis on awareness of daily operational efficiencies and productivity opportunities. Responsible for all catering sales file systems including guest/client checklists, Banquet Event Order input, updates, changes, distribution of information pertaining to event and billing reconciliation. Responsible for collection, tracking, and communication of guest/client satisfaction through conducting personal follow up of guests/clients with post event feedback. Investigating and reviewing any issues of guest/client satisfaction with Director of Catering, Catering Supervisors and Leads, Catering Executive Chef and Culinary Team directly as necessary. Partner with culinary and leadership teams to strategize how to best meet and exceed client needs. As needed, work on-site to assist in coordination and execution of events. Interact directly with guests/clients for immediate impressions and feedback. Direct staffing duties to fulfill guest/client needs and meet/exceed guest/client expectations. Partner with Catering Supervisors, Catering Leads and Student Assistants to address and remedy issues as they arise. Operation of UC Davis vehicle in accordance with all requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education/Experience:
  • Experience communicating offered services to new and previous clients and the ability to discuss pricing and varying menu offerings.
  • Experience writing new event proposals, with accurately represented information and details.
  • Experience with record-keeping and organization of information, to include billing and different payment methods.
  • Experience in customer service and resolving client complaints.
  • Experience working with multiple clients/events simultaneously and prioritizing workload to ensure client satisfaction, strict deadlines being met, and smooth operational success.
  • Experience using various computer-based systems; including Microsoft
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Preferred Education/Experience:
  • Experience using University systems (Kuali, DaFIS, Decision Support, etc).
  • Experience with University policies and procedures, budgets and financial structures, and protocols.
  • Experience using appropriate business and public relations demeanor and language when servicing a high volume of clients.
