- Upper division college level coursework in physics or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Working knowledge and understanding of physics.
- Skill to use basic hand and power tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, cutters, wrenches, power hand drill, saber saw, drill press, and soldering iron.
- Skill in the use and set up of networked personal computers, including computer applications such as Word and Excel. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic computer problems.
- Knowledge of safe practices in a laboratory environment.
- Skill to communicate and interact effectively with a diverse population of individuals.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately despite frequent interruptions and under demands of deadlines.
- Initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with UC Davis safety policies and procedures.
- 50% - DAILY LAB SET-UPS
- 30% - EQUIPMENT REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE
- 10% - BUILD NEW LABORATORY EQUIPMENT
- 5% - WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT
