Responsibilities : Position Summary :
Position Summary :
Functions as a recognized expert, providing authoritative professional guidance to staff within a specific area of service.
Personally attends to the most difficult, complex or unusual cases and will develop and conduct specialized education / public information classes in this specialty.
In addition, assumes immediate responsibility for the clinical investigation of new drugs in the specialty. Will also perform the day to day responsibilities of drug distribution, processing, and therapeutic intervention as needed, The Specialist will undertake tasks and projects to improve therapeutic and financial outcomes.
Incumbents will lecture two times per year to other medical professionals and be published at least one time every three years in a medical journal.
May be a co-principal investigator on patient clinical research, or an investigator on Pharmacy practice research. This position is a Direct Patient Care Provider as defined in Pharmacy Policy.
