Department OverviewAs a security first organization, Technology Delivery Services (TDS) is part of the Information Technology (IT) Department. The TDS teams include Information Security, Planning (architecture and PMO), Application Development, Financial Applications, HR & Payroll Development, Infrastructure, and Client Services teams. We maintain an innovative, inclusive, and supportive work environment.Position SummarySenior Business Operations Analyst is a subject matter expert who has in-depth understanding of Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM and ERP applications is needed for the University of California Office of the President (UCOP). The Oracle Cloud Finance Applications Team provides research, design, development, and support services for the Finance applications. This position is in the Finance Applications group within the Technology Delivery Services (TDS) department and reports directly to the Oracle Financial Applications Manager. The incumbent will work closely with stakeholders, systemwide campus locations, business partners, vendors, the project team, and other technology professionals to define the services and to build consensus on processes, deliverables, scheduling, etc. The Senior business operations analyst in partnership with the business & IT departments, maintains a complete product strategy including detailed roadmaps. Best practices are identified and implemented to optimize or improve existing processes and technology. In this role, the analyst would participate in the selection and implementation of technology platforms, interfaces, security, data migration, and sustainable operations. The Senior business operations analyst is responsible for both technical and functional aspects of maintaining and supporting UCOP's Oracle Financials suite as per business needs. This includes, but is not limited to, designing, evaluating, developing, modifying, debugging, and deploying complex Oracle configurations and customizations. This position may be required to provide remote on-call support during off hours. Key Responsibilities
35% PRODUCT STRATEGY & SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT: Prioritize business needs to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and goals. Partner with vendor consultants and other stakeholders to incorporate industry best practices and deliver defect-free enhancements for the system. Collaborate with core development team members, and campus project teams as needed to address technical challenges and deliver solutions. Manage the technical aspects of maintaining and supporting day-to-day Oracle Financials activities, including design, development, modification, debugging, deployment, and evaluation of complex Oracle configurations and customization. Develop solutions that leverage existing frameworks, align with enterprise cloud architecture and vision, and adhere to established coding standards and development principles. Log Oracle support requests, review patches, deploy fixes, and provide operational support to ensure system stability and reliability. Conduct highly complex data analysis and test/debug highly complex software. Collaborate with functional and technical resources to provide support for various cloud systems with subject matter expertise in at least two systems such as Financial Close and Consolidation (FCCS), Enterprise Data Management (EDMCS), Planning and Budgeting (PBCS), and Accounts Reconciliation (ARCS). Implement and enforce complex programming security practices to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
35% BUSINESS STAKEHOLDER LIAISON: Foster collaboration with business stakeholders understand their priorities and align day-to-day and period close activities accordingly. Ensuring efficient operations and minimized disruptions for year-end fiscal close processes. Facilitate alignment and communication regarding technology upgrades, aiming for a seamless user experience. Actively participate in discussions and provide subject matter expertise to stakeholders, drawing on a deep understanding of industry practices, community standards, and departmental policies and procedures. Cultivate an environment of innovation, inclusivity, and support within the organization. Articulate technical information in a clear and concise manner, facilitating understanding among stakeholders. Translate technical concepts into business terms when communicating with business partners, ensuring mutual understanding of work status, risks, issues, and proposals. Foster transparency by openly sharing plans and striving to prevent surprises both within and across the organization.
20% DESIGN, ANALYSIS, and DOCUMENTATION: As a subject matter expert for business operations, lead the creation of comprehensive technical design documents and test plans for applications. Provide accurate time estimates for project tasks and deliverables, ensuring realistic project planning and scheduling. Develop conversion and integration plans, as well as system implementation plans, to facilitate smooth transitions and deployments. Review and prepare flow-charting and data analysis for requested customization, assessing their compatibility and potential inclusion into the existing Oracle Financials ecosystem. Document and execute the transformation of the University's financial accounting, planning, and budgeting solutions to an Oracle cloud environment, ensuring adherence to best practices and compliance requirements.
10% MENTORING and TRAINING: Provide mentorship and guidance to operations support team, sharing expertise and best practices to support their professional development. Offer constructive feedback and coaching to help peers and team to improve their skills and performance. Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth within the team, encouraging individuals to expand their knowledge and expertise. Conduct training sessions and workshops to impart knowledge on relevant tools, technologies, and processes.

It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range shows the growth potential for this position and the pay scale is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
