Job Summary
We are looking for a Staff Research Associate to be part of our new lab investigating the communication between neural tissues and bodily fluids at molecular and cellular levels. The successful candidate will support various research activities, which involves the use of genetic tools, advanced imaging (e.g., epifluorescence and confocal microscopy), electrophysiological recording (including patch-clamp recording), pharmacological manipulations (in vivo drug administration), and mouse behavioral tests (e.g., locomotor tests, fluid/food consumption). The candidate will be responsible for lab management tasks that are essential for its smooth operation, including lab organization, order placement, administrative work and equipment management. Additionally, there will be the opportunity to conduct an independent research project under the guidance of the lab members and the PI.

The Department of Physiology is a thriving Basic Science Department with over 150 faculty, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and staff. Research projects cover the broad spectrum of physiological applications in neuroscience, molecular, and cellular physiology. The department research and administration are housed at the Mission Bay Campus, while instruction remains at its roots on the Parnassus Campus.
