Job SummaryReporting to the Associate Director of Credential Programs, the Assistant Director of Credential Programs at the Student Recruitment and Global Outreach (SRGO) team will primarily focus on the non-degree credential and programs at the Harris School of Public Policy. The person will manage the full cycle and various aspects of the Data and Policy Summer Scholar (DPSS) Program and other credential offerings at Harris. The person also works closely with the degree-recruitment staff and other functional experts (Marketing, Operations, Data Analytics) at SRGO to design and implement the credential programs’ marketing operations, recruitment analytics, Slate operations and other related student affairs responsibilities. This is a highly comprehensive and agile individual contributor role managing all aspects of the credential programs ranging from business development, external client management, student recruitment, faculty communication, to student experience delivery. Depending on the credential program needs, the person may manage a group of student workers and teaching assistants as well.
Responsibilities
  • Marketing and Lead Generation – 10%
  • Draft and manage the development and distribution of assets (blogs, drip campaign, videos, etc.).
  • Collaborate with marketing colleagues, aligning on scope (objective, target audience, timeline, budget, content, etc.), and holding check-ins for progress and adjustments.
  • Coordinate the outreach to institutional partners, support the identification and curation of new partnerships.
  • Recruitment and Outreach – 50%
  • Manage a caseload of individual prospective students of credential programs and conduct recruitment activities such as 1:1 calls, on-campus events and webinars to meet the enrollment goals.
  • Monitor enrollment and engagement via Slate and Tableau reports.
  • Engage and coordinate with program alumni for recruitment activities.
  • Reach out to institutional partners (academic institutions, employers across sectors) for recruitment.
  • Program Implementation – 40%
  • Review applicant materials and recommend admissions decisions; lead the committee meeting and release decisions in Slate.
  • Manage the program budget (expenses, revenue, net revenue).
  • Manage the matriculation process including student communication, coordination with University Registrar, Bursar, Student Affairs team etc.
  • Design and deliver the entire student experience starting from orientation, scheduling. courses/classes/live events, creating and managing Canvas sites, managing the student worker/teaching assistants, and faculty communication and relationships building.
  • Engage with the program alumni and manage the LinkedIn groups for credential alumni.
  • Recruits and/or evaluates applicants for admission by interviewing, reading applications and summarizing evaluations. Completes these tasks independently or with some guidance and instruction from others.
  • Maintains relationships with all individuals involved in the recruitment process, including routinely counseling students and parents regarding the admission process.
  • Participates in special projects such as developing marketing materials, monitoring budgets and recruiting underrepresented groups with moderate/high levels of authority.
  • Performs other related work as needed.
Education:Minimum QualificationsMinimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Work Experience:Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Certifications:Preferred QualificationsEducation:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 1-2 years of related program management experience in an educational setting.
Experience:
  • Experience with the University of Chicago or other peer institutions, and/or student-facing experiences.
  • Experience within one or more of the functions such as program design, partnership development, marketing, student advising, curriculum design.
