Structure

The Associate Director of Development for Clinical Programs at the College of Medicine and UC Health is an exempt (salaried) position employed by the University of Cincinnati Foundation (UCF) and has a full-time assignment to the UC Academic Health Center’s Office of Development and Alumni Affairs. This position reports to the Director of Development, Clinical Programs.

Focus

The Associate Director of Development for Clinical Programs at the College of Medicine and UC Health is responsible for planning, implementing and managing the fundraising for specifically assigned programs in the College of Medicine and UC Health. Heavy emphasis will be placed on developing relationships with alumni, faculty, grateful patients and community partners in an effort to secure funding to support the mission of the academic health center.

Specific Duties

  • Develop and implement plans for achieving projected dollar goals for assigned projects each year.
  • Devise and execute strategies for qualifying and cultivating assigned prospects for special, major and deferred gifts through in-person solicitations.
  • Build and qualify viable prospect lists for all projects, utilizing resources of UCFs Office of Prospect Development and through consultation with the appropriate College of Medicine/UC Health faculty, volunteers and UCF staff.
  • Maintain an active schedule of personal visits with prospects.
  • Provide guidance and support to volunteers involved with assigned fundraising projects and develop strategies to train and recruit new volunteers.
  • Ensure appropriate stewardship of gifts and donors.
  • Maintain donor files and reports related to UCF, the College of Medicine and UC Health fundraising programs.
  • Complete other special assignments relating to awareness, involvement, and support as requested by faculty, in close collaboration with the Executive Director of Development and Alumni Affairs for the College of Medicine and UC Health.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of fundraising experience, or advanced degree with 2-3 years of fundraising preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.
  • Understanding of basic scientific principles.
  • Candidates should possess strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Record of successful gift solicitation and closure.
  • Ability to interact favorably with a diverse group of individuals and to foster strong, productive relationships.
  • Willingness to travel and attend evening and weekend activities as needed. Valid driver’s license required for travel.
  • A commitment to and passion for the role of development in advancing the mission of the University of Cincinnati and UC Health.

Physical Demands

This position is considered to have light work. Exerting up to 20lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up a negligible of force constantly to move objects. This position requires the operation of a motor vehicle. This position also requires:
