Job Title : Grants and Contracts Professional

Position # : '00657976 - Requisition #34089

Job Summary :

Seeking a full-time, Research Services Professional in the School of Dental Medicine (SDM), Department of Craniofacial Biology (CFB).

The position offers on-the-job training and professional development opportunities with potential to advance in the field of research administration.

The primary function of this position is to coordinate Pre-Award activities for grant and contract proposals to external sponsors, assist with Post-Award functions, procurement and regulatory compliance.

This position will also provide administrative support to other business functions within the department. Other duties will be as assigned and commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Award

  • Reviews and interprets the sponsor's submission requirements with faculty to ensure compliance with appropriate Federal, State, Board of Regents, OGC and university policies and regulations.
  • Collaborates with faculty to develop multi-year, complex proposal budgets using MS Excel.
  • Advises faculty on PreAward submission process and manages completion of electronic applications.
  • Creates proposal in InfoEd system and submits proposals for internal review and approval.
  • Work with principal investigators on the preparation of both sponsor and institutional forms to ensure accuracy and that all submission deadlines are met.

Post-Award :

  • Assists in transitioning projects from Pre-award to Post-award status with Program Director.
  • Confirms mFIN budget with approved budget in notice of award.
  • Prepare financial reports for fellowships and review with trainee.
  • Assist with management and payment of sub-recipients
  • Maintain SDM grant and contract award data.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Location :

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications :

Entry-Level :

  • A bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, social / behavioral sciences, physical sciences, nursing, healthcare, finance, accounting, business administration, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • Substitution : A combination of education and related technical / paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Intermediate-Level :

  • A bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, social / behavioral sciences, physical sciences, nursing, healthcare, finance, accounting, business administration, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • Substitution : A combination of education and related technical / paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • One (1) year of professional-level experience in sponsored project administration

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in pre- and or post-award grant and contract administration.
  • Experience in interpreting and applying policies from a variety of funding structures (federal, state, foundation, and institutional) and serving as a resource to others.
  • Experience working with NIH sponsored research.

Experience working in higher education

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate a broad range of laws, rules, and regulations in order to exercise good judgment in applying them to grant and contract coordination
  • Demonstrated ability to use spreadsheets, word processing, email, and calendar software
  • Ability to learn, navigate, and manage various grant and contract databases, portals, and websites.
  • Supportive and conscientious work ethic.
  • Ability to establish work priorities and provide follow through to ensure completion
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, record-keeping abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
  • Ability to be adaptable, flexible, and to think on your feet.

Anticipated Pay Range :

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as

Entry Level ($48,071 - $61,146)

Intermediate Professional ($52,312 - $66,541)

The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
