Position Summary: The University of Dayton Libraries seeks a part-time (20 hours per week) Electronic Resources Specialist to support electronic resources management, discovery and access. Reporting to the Coordinator of Electronic Resources & Discovery within the Collections Strategies & Services division, the Collections Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining access to materials in the library that arrive on a periodic basis, including but not limited to e-journals, e-books, online newspapers, databases, and streaming videos. Work will involve updating knowledgebase holdings, assessing existing holdings for accuracy, maintaining the libraries’ a-z database list, and pulling usage statistics. The Electronic Resource Specialist also provides troubleshooting support for access issues, communicating effectively with vendors, library users, and library staff. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Experience working in a library, museum, archives, or other cultural heritage organization
Proficiency with Google or Microsoft or similar office tools, including spreadsheets, email and calendar
Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Preferred QualificationsWhile not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
Experience working with e-resources, including ebooks, ejournals, streaming videos, and databases
Experience using the administrative staff interface of an integrated library system
Experience using the administrative staff interface of an electronic resource knowledgebase, such as EBSCOadmin or Alma
Experience collecting and organizing data
Ability to investigate and resolve access issues, including the ability to analyze and interpret user-provided information
A background in user-centered design
