Job Description:
Provide assistance to IPPD students, faculty and staff by monitoring student performance in the course and project deliverables, while providing feedback where appropriate.
Grade and record assignment grades, including but not limited to:
Individual and group assignments
Quizzes
Project status weekly memos and evaluation feedback memos
Student completion of evaluations and surveys
Deliverable reports (professional style and technical writing) based on assignment rubrics and previous experience from relevant courses
Class participation during lectures and through our online platforms
Team blogs and other multimedia deliverables
Monitor submissions for late assignment requests and excused absence requests
IPPD Course Assistant will not have any teaching responsibility.
Attendance to class is required. Classes are on Tuesdays periods 8 through 10, both semesters.
Meet weekly with the IPPD Director for feedback and instructions.
Implement updates to the Canvas course shell per explicit instructions from the IPPD Director.
Working remotely is not encouraged but may be allowed for certain tasks.
Office hours are not required, however, the course assistant should be fairly accessible during business hours via email through an IPPD email address provided by the program staff, as well as through our online messaging platforms (Canvas and Microsoft Teams).
Expected Salary:
$!5 per hour
Minimum Requirements:
This job requires an efficient worker with excellent attention to detail, who is comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment. Candidate must be a versatile team player who is organized, dependable and a self-starter that possesses the following standing, knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Current University of Florida engineering student who already completed the Senior Design course or a graduate engineering student pursuing degree at UF, with a bachelor's in engineering from an accredited institution.
Excellent technical writing skills with experience writing professional reports.
Knowledge and experience working in Canvas.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), Teams, and SharePoint.
Ability to communicate and work well as part of a team.
Organized approach and excellent time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Internship experience in engineering
