Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Graduate Research Assistant (PhD or Master's students) at the Department of Human Nutrition, Food and Animal Sciences, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in Honolulu, HI. The Graduate Research Assistant will be responsible for conducting research, data analysis, utilizing laboratory skills, and enhancing analytical abilities in food chemistry and ingredient functionality-related research.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in food science, food engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field
- Effective Communication skills with a minimum IELTS 7.0
- GRE test required for international applicants
- Strong motivation to conduct research on food physicochemistry
- Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
- Peer-reviewed publications in reputable food science journals (required for PhD applicants)
Compensation
The position offers a fully funded assistantship of approximately $25,000-26,000 per year with the tuition fee waived. Starting time: Fall 2025, application deadline to Graduate school: February 1st, 2025
