Duties and Responsibilities

* Assist Academic Advisors and/or the Learning Specialist with providing learning support services

* Work individually or in small groups with academically at-risk students, under-prepared students, or those needing additional assistance

* Assist in the planning and implementation of summer academic support for student-athletes

* Assist with evening team study halls and programming

* Work compatibly and cooperatively with student-athletes and colleagues

* Possibly assist with teaching UNIV course(es)

* Possibly assist with tutor/mentor training

* Possible team travel

* Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

* Classified UHM graduate student

* One year experience tutoring and/or teaching academic skills

* Strong oral communication, writing and interpersonal skills

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Experience working with diverse student populations

* Dependable, organized and efficient

Desirable Qualifications

* Experience working with student-athletes in an athletic-academic setting

* One year teaching experience

* Experience working with students with learning disabilities
