Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on Elementary Math Intervention - Developing Math Fact Fluency as part of a Hawai?i Educational Research Network (HERN) project.
• Research tasks may include but are not limited to: meeting with partners and assist with conducting observations and interviews; transcribing and coding qualitative data; cleaning quantitative data; analyzing data and synthesizing findings; writing research reports; and sharing findings with diverse stakeholders (e.g. webinars, research forums and reports, conferences)
• Participate in monthly HERN Fellow meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

1. Classified, full-time (minimum of 6 credits) graduate student in good academic standing (GPA of 3.0 or above) at UH M?noa.
2. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
3. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
4. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to attend to tasks with detail.
5. Strong written and oral communication skills.

1. Working toward a graduate degree in mathematics or science education.
2. Experience working with diverse stakeholders.
3. Experience conducting literature searches and reviews.
4. Experience in conducting and documenting observations and interviews.
5. Experience in writing reports.
6. Experience in coding or categorizing qualitative data.
7. Experience in cleaning and manipulating quantitative data sets using MS Excel or Google Sheets.
