Duties and Responsibilities

• Under supervision of the Director of OSAS: assist the Office of Student Academic Services (OSAS) with the admissions, recruitment, advising, retention, and graduation of students in the College of Education.
• Provide academic advising services to students, including assessing their interests and abilities, examining their educational goals, developing short- and long-term goals, making decisions, and creating academic plans to meet their objectives.
• Assist in the administration of COE student support programs, workshops, activities, and other events for students.
• Coordinate work with school and community sites and teachers. Assist with the development of service learning opportunities.
• Assist with fiscal processing and maintenance of program budgets.
• Develop and manage program Excel database, document program and project activities, tabulate surveys and evaluations.
• Assist other activities supporting program implementation as developed. Assist with the administration of scholarships and stipends.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Admitted, full-time graduate student in good academic standing (GPA of 3.0 or above) at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa,
2. Able to work 20 hours per week in an office setting,
3. Experience and willingness to coordinate the areas of logistics, communication, and budgets for projects;
4. Able to coordinate event activities, including those on evenings and weekends;
5. Able to work independently, responsibly and collaboratively;
6. Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, and individuals;
7. Experience working in multicultural settings;
8. Good writing, communication, presentation, and organizational skills;
9. Experience using social media, Google Drive, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
10. Able to travel to schools and other locations as needed.

Desirable Qualifications

1. Enrolled in a UHM College of Education master's or doctoral degree program;
2. Experience in conducting training sessions;
3. Demonstrated knowledge of teacher preparation and Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science (KRS) programs;
4. Knowledge of STAR Academic Logic DB;
5. Experience in developing and maintaining databases;
6. Demonstrated experience working with Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander or Filipino student populations.
