Duties and Responsibilities 1. *Serves as the Biocore Associate providing overall assistance to the Biocore Manager and the Clinical Trials Office (CTO).
2. *Assists with biospecimen processing and product ordering, and transfer activities and tasks (Biocore team) associated with conducting oncology clinical trials and by assisting senior clinical research staff fulfilling research biospecimen and study agent requirements.
3. *Records documentation and enters information into the database records to track samples and materials in/out.
4. *Assist the Biocore Manager and senior clinical research staff, physicians and cancer care staff in coordinating research biospecimen collection and logistics and in troubleshooting any problem involving biospecimen and investigational product within the Hawaii Cancer Consortium/network.
5. *Collects and enters protocol data and completes relevant data forms related to research biospecimen and study agents; inputs patient tracking information into OnCore Clinical Trials Management System and/or other required data capture system in a timely manner.
6. *Reviews data for accuracy and submits data within time requirements, electronically as required.
7. *Assist senior clinical research staff with developing study calendars and monitory patient safety.
8. *Provides input on study continuation; assist in monitoring and writing reports for audit responses per sponsor guidelines, within the time parameters. Serves as a resource and troubleshooter for any research pharmacy and research biospecimen trial-related problem.
9. *Develops specialized knowledge of clinical trial protocols grouped from a specific National Cancer Institute (NCI) research base or other source, or by disease site or otherwise.
10. *Develops specialized knowledge of specific cancer care sites conducting clinical trails and/or job areas, such as education/training, investigational drug accountability/storage, specimen collection/processing and date base maintenance/reporting and auditing.
11. *Attends on-site, local and out-of-state meetings, meetings at hospitals and visits satellite research pharmacies as requested.
12. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications 1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration, education, health science, or related field and 0 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities in health science administration; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
2. Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of health science administration demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology.
3. Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with health science administration.
4. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in health science administration.
5. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.

Desirable Qualifications
1. Familiarity with the UH and RCUH policies and procedures.
2. Experience working in HealthCare Community Outreach organizations.
3. Knowledge of basic accounting and fiscal operations and experience with budget preparation.
