Job Summary: The Addiction Medicine Fellowship Director is responsible for the development and oversight of a new addiction medicine fellowship program within the university's academic setting. This individual will work closely with the program faculty and staff to ensure that the program provides high-quality training and education in addiction medicine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive addiction medicine fellowship program
- Complete ACGME accreditation process for the new fellowship program with the goal of obtaining accreditation
Work with program faculty and staff to ensure that the program provides a high-quality educational experience for fellows
- Collaborate with local addiction medicine providers to provide fellows with hands-on training and experience in addiction medicine
- Oversee the development and delivery of addiction medicine-related lectures and educational materials for fellows and family medicine residents
- Collaborate with other colleges, departments and programs within the university to promote interdisciplinary training and education in addiction medicine
- MD/DO or its foreign equivalent from an ACGME-accredited medical college
- Board certification or board eligibility in family medicine or related field, and Board certification/board eligibility in Addiction Medicine
- Unrestricted Illinois license to practice medicine in Illinois or Illinois license-eligible
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with fellows, faculty, staff, and community partners
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
- Knowledge of addiction medicine fellowship programs, including accreditation standards and regulatory requirements
- Experience in addiction medicine, including experience in an academic setting or fellowship program.
