Description:Reporting directly to the department Director and/or designee, employees at this level assist in the administration and coordination of patient expiration activities, which may include monitoring and/or administering specific, moderately complex hospital activities. This position is responsible for the management of the Patient Expiration Office operations. Responsible for managing the day-to-day department operations to maintain customer satisfaction and support across the organization. This position collaborates with physicians, employees, and funeral home staff regarding department protocols/procedures.

- Serves as a resource and consults with departments across the organization on processes, and policies related to Patient Expiration.
- Develops education/informational materials, policies, and procedure documents related to Patient Expiration.
- Assembles data and prepares a variety of administrative reports.
- Assists in making recommendations during budget planning.
- Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
- Any one or any combination, that equals 3 years (36 months) of the following types of preparation--
- college course work leading to a major in hospital administration, health administration, or business administration, or similar area of study
- Associate Degree (60 semester hours) equals 1 year (12 months)
- 90-semester hours equals 2 years (24 months)
- Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals 3 years (36 months)
- progressively more responsible experience that provided a knowledge of generally accepted principles, theories, and practices used in hospital administration, health administration, business administration or similar professional experience
- One year (12 months) of hospital/medical center/health care administrative work experience
