Description:

Under management direction, functions as the Deputy Director that will help oversee the functions of the security operation at UIH Health Hospital and Clinics.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manages the daily security functions at UIH and its medical clinics. Responsible for security personnel daily activities related to protecting the safety and security of patients, visitors, staff, and physicians.
  • Interviews, selects, trains, and manages staff to ensure departmental goals are accomplished. Perform annual reviews and conduct ongoing employee training.
  • Assigns work assignments and schedules for Security Sergeants. Ensures the proper handling and security of patient’s valuables and company property by monitoring and enforcing procedures and educating involved parties, as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises.
  • Participate in the development of policies and procedures required for the improvement or modification of the security operation.
  • Assists the Director with the Security Management Plan implementation and coordinator responses to critical incidents. Identifies documents and address actual and potential security breaches.
  • Assists the Director with budget preparation and fiscal compliance to include utilization of labor, supplies, contract services and equipment.
  • Acts for the Director in his absence.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications Required:

1. Eleven (11) years of progressively responsible management work experience in a private or governmental organization:

A. Eight (8) years in the area of designated specialization required by the position

AND

B. Three (3) years supervising the work of a professional staff or process within the designated specialization

  • Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the above three (3) years non-specialized experience requirement
  • Master’s degree may be substituted for one (1) year specialized work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 years of management experience working in a healthcare or security setting.
