The University of Indianapolis Department of Art & Design is seeking a full-time, one-year, Visiting Assistant Professor for Graphic Design.
Preference and consideration will be given to candidates that demonstrate professional experience in graphic design, university-level teaching experience, a strong knowledge of digital software and production. Preference will be given to those with studio art experience.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate graphic design courses as part of NASAD-accredited Bachelor of Science degree program. Courses include design fundamentals of typography, branding, motion design, interaction design, web design, experiential learning, and managing internships.
Graphic Design is part of a liberal arts program in the Department of Art & Design and lives alongside BS degree programs in Studio Art, Pre-Art Therapy, and Arts Education. All programs offer a multidisciplinary approach and a breadth of experiences that work toward students building a portfolio. The University of Indianapolis is a teaching-centered institution that also values service to the department, college, and university. Service in the department includes but is not limited to student advising, portfolio reviews, management of the Mac computer labs, department events and exhibitions, in-house design work, etc. Ideal candidates will value and work well collaboratively with faculty from a range of disciplines.
