The University of Kansas is Hiring an Academic Success Technology Graduate Student Hourly Near Lawrence, KS
Position Overview The duties of the graduate student hourly for Academic Success Initiatives will be focused on supporting the development of priority initiatives of the unit. The graduate student will work between 9-20 hours/week as agreed upon by the graduate student hourly, the department and within university policies. The graduate student hourly will report to the Academic Success Technologies Functional Systems Analyst while also working collaboratively with other members of Academic Success leadership based on the project assigned for the term of service. Data entry into the EAB Student Success technology platform that connects service providers to their case load of assigned students.
Management of the Jayhawk GPS email inbox, responding to and escalating inquiries appropriately.
Developing and updating training materials and videos for Jayhawk GPS functionalities for both student and staff user audiences.
Assisting with new technology onboarding and development projects.
Research current market trends which impact higher education and student development techniques and practices.
40% Supervision and Program Management
Assist with Student Navigator daily support and oversight.
Training and resource management for program.
10 % Program Improvement
Participate in brainstorming activities with the Strategic Initiatives team related to projects or initiatives.
Participate in monthly Strategic Initiatives staff meetings, Academic Success All-Staff meetings and professional development, and reoccurring one-on-one meetings with the Director and/or supervisor.
Other duties as assigned by the AVP, Director, Supervisor, or Strategic Initiatives staff.
Required Qualifications
Strong attention to detail as evidenced through previous experience and application materials.
Commitment to high quality customer service as evidenced by application materials.
Enrolled as a KU graduate student in good standing for no less than 6 credit hours for the semester.
During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills as evidenced in application materials and interview.
Experience with applied motivational strategies in an academic setting.
Experience working with diverse individuals or groups in a support capacity.
Demonstrated ability to learn new technology systems.
Experience working in an environment that values attention to detail.
