Physical Requirements | This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves some exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens. |

Job Summary | This Acute Pain/Palliative Care Pharmacist will provide comprehensive, patient centered pharmacotherapy primarily on the Inpatient Acute Pain/ Palliative Care Consult Services and in the Palliative Care outpatient clinic. This may include guiding complex medical decision making, providing drug regimen and symptom management recommendations, supporting transitions of care coordination, and counseling patients. This pharmacist will participate in opioid stewardship initiatives and will provide educational services to pharmacy students, residents, pharmacists, physicians, and nurses through precepting and other teaching opportunities. This pharmacist may also contribute to scholarly activity through clinical research, quality improvement projects, presentations, and publications in support of UK HealthCares mission. The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum salary for this position will now be $104,697/year. All pay rates will be based on candidates experience. |
