Description

Position Title: CCE Community Outreach Student Assistant

Supervisor: Community Engagement Coordinator

Term: One-year appointment for Academic Year 2024-2025 with opportunity for re-application and re-hire.

Hours/Week: 10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling and working location options.

Essential Duties:

  • Keep regular in-person office hours for team communication and support.

  • Create promotional content for events and initiatives across multiple formats.

  • Work with the Coordinator to maintain engaging social media content on Instagram and Facebook.

  • Champion at least one community service event sponsored by the Center for Community Engagement.

  • Coordinate with partners to identify community needs and volunteer opportunities.

  • Take on varied tasks as needed, collaborating effectively with faculty, staff, and students.

  • Be flexible/available to work some weekends and evenings, to support events sponsored by the Center for Community Engagement.

Qualifications


Candidate Profile:

  • A full-time undergraduate student at the University of Lynchburg

  • Google Suite and social media savvy (including Instagram and Facebook).

  • Strong design experience using Canva or Adobe InDesign.

  • Samples of design work will be requested during the interview process.

  • Outstanding written and spoken communication skills.

  • Ability to work with a diverse student population, as well as faculty, staff, and parents.
