Remote work opportunity: 2 - 24 hour on call shifts/week with a rotating weekend obligation
Under general supervision, provides and coordinates the organ procurement care provided to patients in the pre-transplant phase of care. Serves as a fully effective and participative member of the multidisciplinary patient care services team. Demonstrates and models the full range of professional practice in the delivery of patient care which allows for assessment, evaluation, admission, management, disposition and discharge of the donated organs within established protocols. Is accountable to patients and families for the processes and outcomes of care during the organ procurement phase. The organ procurement coordinator reflects the mission, vision, and values of University of Maryland Medical Center, adheres to the organization’s code of ethics, accrediting regulatory bodies, and all relevant transplant policies, procedures, and guidelines.
