University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is Hiring a Special Procedures Technologist 2, Interventional Radiology, Full-Time Near Miami, FL

Shift: 40 hrs. (days, evenings, nights, depends on availability)

Work Location: University of Miami Hospital - Interventional Radiology

* Reviews and evaluates developed x-rays, video tape, or computer-generated information to determine whether images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.

* Takes thorough and accurate patient medical histories.

* Explains procedures, observes patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan, monitors conditions and reactions, and reports abnormal signs to a physician.

* Positions and immobilizes patients on examining table.

* Positions imaging equipment and adjusts controls to set exposure time and distance.

* Records, processes, and maintains patient data and treatment records, and prepares reports.

* Sets up examination rooms ensuring that necessary equipment is ready for use.

* Performs scheduled maintenance and minor emergency repairs on radiographic equipment.

* Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Associate degree or equivalent

Certification and Licensing:

Certification in relevant specialty or field

Experience:

Minimum 3 year of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

* Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

* Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

* Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

* Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

* Commitment to the University's core values.

* Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.

* Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
