University of Michigan is Hiring a Climate Futures Project Associate Manager (Hybrid Position) Near Ann Arbor, MI

SummaryThe Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning is launching a Climate Futures initiative and is looking for a project associate manager to handle the scheduling, outreach, information gathering, programming, analysis, and synthesis needed to help grow this new platform. You will report to and work in close collaboration with the Climate Futures faculty director (our organizational chart). You will also partner with faculty, staff, and students as an extension of efforts to highlight, foster, and grow collaborative research and teaching efforts to support vibrant climate futures.
This hybrid job is situated in Ann Arbor and on-campus work is expected three days a week, with a few offsite weeks throughout the academic year and an offsite period from mid-May to mid-August.
Responsibilities*
  • Under direct supervision, responsible for the management, performance tracking, and scheduling of the Climate Futures initiative
  • Coordinate activities of initiative participants (including faculty, students and outside partners), identifying appropriate resources needed, and scheduling resources (meeting rooms, etc.)
  • Assist in communicating project objectives, preparing presentation and report content, and creating basic graphics to communicate curricular and research opportunities and help visualize connections between complex climate concepts and built environment actions and agency
  • Assist in the research, analysis, and graphic communication of current curricular and research efforts underway at Taubman College, the University of Michigan, and at peer architecture institutions, including a range of deliverable formats from brochures to reports
  • Assist in the development of relationships and communicate with potential and ongoing collaborators across U-M and with outside organizations and partners to support building a Climate Futures network
  • Prepare collaborator meeting materials including agendas and presentation content, attend meetings (including individual, small group and faculty meetings), and prepare and distribute meeting minutes, including follow up on action items
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned
Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, sustainability, or related field
  • 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in professional practice, project management, and/or related informational, communication, and graphic professional experience
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including writing, presentations, information analysis
  • Familiarity with Google Docs/Sheets/Slides and Adobe InDesign
Additional Information
The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000. Factors used to determine salary include experience, knowledge and skills for the position. You are encouraged to discuss salary questions to honor transparency throughout the recruiting process.
