Job Summary:
To collect, curate, disseminate, file, and manage all record construction and physical facility maintenance documents for the institution, including but not limited to AutoCAD plans, physical drawing sets, specifications, and manuals; to manage and maintain the AutoCAD master drawings and the HEGIS (excel) database; to intake, process, and manage all signage projects. Responsible for the coordination and completion of all aspects of assigned projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes the process of a project.
Education & Experience
Associate degree in Drafting/Design Technology and four (4) years of experience preferred.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: Valid driver's license required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, blueprints, and drawings. Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar computer-aided drafting and design software. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Time management skills. XVerbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
  • Operates computer-aided drafting equipment to produce designs, working drawings, and finished drawings of architectural and structural plans for use in new construction an renovation projects at UMMC.
  • Oversees and maintains the plan/specification storage room.
  • Assists with the interpretation of plan drawings.
  • Archives current and past documents into a computerized system.
  • Disseminates record documents to stakeholders, and coordinates responses to the documents.
  • Manages signage projects through coordination with contractors and third-party vendors; obtains and assembles data necessary to complete signage designs, visiting job sites as necessary.
  • Aligns project activities with organizational objectives; ensures project outcomes equate to organizational success.
  • Oversees the resolution of problems in order to maintain progress.
  • Oversees key activities and ensures accuracy of project documents and reports.
  • Updates and maintains the HEGIS (space) database, including periodic physical space audits.
