Job Description

The Coordinator of Alumni and Student Programs plays a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant community of engagement and support for the University of Missouri. Through strategic planning and execution, the qualified individual drives initiatives that enhance alumni engagement, strengthen student-alumni connections, and amplify the university's impact.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate Mizzou Homecoming: Guide and oversee all Homecoming-related activities, including the parade, house decorations, talent show, and the nation's largest student blood drive. Provide expert guidance to the Homecoming Steering Committee, a group of 32 student volunteers, to ensure the seamless event execution.
2. Alumni Engagement Strategy Development: Develop comprehensive strategies to boost alumni involvement and support across three distinct alumni lifecycles: Students, Explorers (under 26), and Builders (27-35). Drive initiatives to increase philanthropic contributions, event participation, volunteerism, and communication channels tailored to each segment. Liaison with Young Alumni Ambassadors to create a valuable advisory group for engagement.
3. Reunion Activities Coordination: In collaboration with the Alumni Association Programs Team, assist in planning and coordinating affinity reunion activities. Facilitate memorable experiences that reconnect alumni with their alma mater and foster lasting bonds.
4. Collaborative Support: Collaborate closely with Alumni Association teammates to reinforce synergy in event planning, outreach endeavors, and strategic initiatives. Provide valuable insights and support to enhance the impact of MAA events and engagement efforts.
5. Campus-wide Integration: Forge partnerships with key campus offices to promote cohesive student-alumni experiences. Collaborate across departments to align initiatives and amplify the sense of community and pride within the Mizzou family.
6. Additional Responsibilities: Undertake miscellaneous duties to promote traditions and pride among Mizzou alumni, students, faculty, staff, and supporters. This includes facilitating outreach efforts, establishing partnerships, and supporting events beyond the primary focus area.

M-F 8 am-5 pm

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

1-3 years of work experience in alumni and student relations or comparable professional positions. Extensive evening and weekend work. Possession of a valid driver's license and cell phone. Superior written and verbal communication skills. High level of proficiency using Microsoft Office software. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a highly organized and effective manner.

Salary Range: $20.50-$23/hr
