Hiring Department Psychological Sciences - the mpower project Job DescriptionThe mpower project at the University of Missouri is seeking a full-time Program and Project Support Coordinator to begin in the summer or fall of 2024. The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility to extend for additional years based on annual review. Directed by Drs. Erin Hennes and Sean Lane, the mpower project is an NIH-funded interdisciplinary research team developing improved methods for statistical power analysis. This position involves assistance with coordinating with psychologists, statisticians, computer scientists, and engineers who are developing traditional and novel approaches to data simulation, meta-analysis, generalizability theory, and machine learning to develop user-friendly, efficient, and expansive statistical tools and empirically-informed guidance for the optimal design of quantitative behavioral and social science research. Drs. Hennes and Lane are committed to the development of their staff. The Program and Project Support Coordinator will assist in coordinating all research activities across all project personnel. Key Responsibilities
Facilitating communications amongst personnel and with funding agencies and stakeholders
Scheduling in-person and virtual team meetings and arranging travel
Supervising undergraduate and graduate researchers
Monitoring project deadlines and progress
Assisting with budget records and preparing financial reports
Assisting in preparation of progress and final reports, and grant and manuscript preparation
Managing the project website
Shift Flexible work schedule, including remote or hybrid, will be considered. Standard 40 hours expected per week. Minimum QualificationsA Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in statistics, computer science, psychological sciences, or a related field
Experience in project coordination, research, and/or office administration
Effectiveness in managing teams and multitasking across multiple projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in programs and tools such as EndNote, Figma, GitHub, High Performance Computing, Jupyter Notebook, Microsoft Office, Overleaf, Python, and/or R
Research experience and/or interest in advanced quantitative methods, software development, and/or open science and best practice
Anticipated Hiring Range Salary: $18.50/hour. This is a grant funded position. As such, the salary is non-negotiable.
