SummaryJob Description
Residential Life’s Administrative Operations office serves as the primary point of contact for students, families and other campus departments. The Office Support Assistant IV responds to questions and concerns from these constituents and manages various resident processes, such as room moves and summer housing.
Essential FunctionsManage the room move request process, including, but not limited to, communication and problem-solving with residents and Residential Life staff.
Maintain understanding and working knowledge of department processes/procedures to provide the best residential experience for residents.
Manage the summer housing process, including, but not limited to, applications, contracts, assignments, room moves and other tasks related to summer residents.
Serve as a primary liaison for the department with a variety of University departments, including Cashiers, Admissions, Financial Aid, Registration, the International Center and other administrative departments.
Collaborate with other Residential Life staff members to achieve optimal residence hall occupancy levels and satisfaction for residents.
Manage residence hall capacity and occupancy data. Generate and summarize reports based on occupancy data.
Greet guests, respond to questions and concerns received over the phone or email and/or route to the appropriate staff member/department.
Understand and infer urgency, and use an appropriate tone when communicating.
As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities is expected in order to serve the customer and maintain our Residential Life and Student Affairs mission.
Shift
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
This position may require evening and weekend hours supporting activities and programs within the department. Occasionally division and campus projects may require additional hours outside of your normal schedule.
Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred QualificationsAbility to understand complex systems and to perform multiple tasks using multiple procedures at the same time.
4 years of progressively responsible office experience.
Strong customer service skills.
Interpersonal communication skills.
Outstanding collaboration as a member of a team.
Positive attitude.
Ability to type proficiently.
Competency to utilize computer-based office software and web-based applications, including Excel.
Strong work ethic.
Personal integrity.

Anticipated Hiring Range
Range: $14.51 – $19.00 per hour, depending on experience
GGS/PAT Level: GGS 006
