Description of Work This position is part of the OSFA processing team comprised of associate and assistant directors, specialists and support staff. Responsible for verifying income and other information on financial aid applications, calculating refund and repayment amounts for withdrawn students, and confirming student eligibility and amounts for the Federal Pell Grant. Assist with awarding financial aid for spring and summer sessions. Work with the other specialists in assisting with any processing functions including, but not limited to, revising aid due to grade level progressions, reviewing overawards over cost and over need situations and completing mid-year graduation and processing of Direct Loan program reports. Position is cross-trained to be able to assist other staff in performing critical business operations. This position may be asked to assist with TEACH Grant program processing or reporting or Federal Perkins Loan exits and master promissory note processing, if needed. This position requires strong skills in communication, collaboration, and attention to detail. Preferred experience in a financial aid setting and with Oracle/PeopleSoft student information system.

Minimum Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Experience with Microsoft Office, Word and Excel essential. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications 1 year experience in a college or university financial aid office or comparable setting preferred. Detailed knowledge and understanding of the Higher Education Act of 1965 as amended, related interpretations, rules, and regulations associated with the Act desirable. Experience using PeopleSoft or similar software helpful.
