| Position Summary | Plans and leads exercise/activity sessionsin one or more assigned fitness areas, such as low impact aerobics,stretching/flexibility, yoga, circuit training, general fitness, weighttraining, and/or specialty training. Sets up and monitors class equipment, andensures its return in serviceable condition. Advises participants on programand class procedures and policies, as appropriate. Answers questions fromparticipants after each session; assists in performing follow up andcommunication with participants and supervisor, as required. Ensures thatsafety and injury prevention policies and procedures are adhered to byparticipants; reports accidents and prepares accident reports, as required.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. American Red Cross FirstAid and CPR Certification required within 30 days of employment. Certificationprovided by department. Discipline-specific licensures and/or certificationsmay be required for designated positions in this classification, or previousteaching experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilitiesspecified. |
