We seek a student with library experience and demonstrated leadership ability. The Student Lead will work with University Library staff and other supervisors to:
Support the management of student workforce - adjusting students' workflow and assignments as needed to best meet user needs and to ensure that all work is completed in an efficient manner.
Model and support UL Student Employee rules and expectations amongst the student workforce - including dress code, attendance, breaks, and quality customer service.
In addition, the Student Lead may:
Support student employee supervisors with student employee performance.
Participate in new student employee interviews.
Attend and participate in regular Student Lead meetings - offering input and engaging in discussions regarding student employment at UL branches.
Lead or implement work on special or ongoing projects.
Applicants must be familiar with libraries and capable of working within a team environment. All student employees may be asked to work nights and/or weekends. All UL&LS student employees are employed on a term basis for the current/ impending school year. All library student employees must be able to shelf books and perform other physical activities as required. Please submit a resume and cover letter with your application. Minimum Qualifications Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress. Preferred Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
6 months or 2 semester of directly-related experience at Centennial Library.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current Work Study award.
Experience providing user support at library public service settings.
Excellent customer service skills.
Demonstrated oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively; both as a team member and as a leader.
