Position Summary
"As a nationally accredited program with a strong educational component inThe University of New Mexico School of Medicine, the Office of the MedicalInvestigator (OMI) in Albuquerque investigates any death occurring in NewMexico that is sudden, violent, untimely, unexpected or where a person is founddead and the cause of death is unknown. The OMI, which is a special programwithin the Department of Pathology, determines the cause and manner of death inthese cases, and provides formal death certification.
We are looking for two dynamic and seasoned Shift Supervisors to join andhelp lead our Field Deputy Medical Investigator team at the OMI. We are lookingfor people with strong interpersonal and communication skills, who are able tocommunicate in written and verbal form well.Our ideal candidates willhave a background in training or teaching.We are looking for people withstrong ability to prioritize and understand items to be escalated.Ourideal candidates will have a strong knowledge of general process flows.
This position may work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.Standby hours may be necessary.

Conditions of Employment

• May be required to submit immunization records for review for required vaccines and TB testing.
• UNM will provide Hepatitis vaccination, candidate may decline vaccination through declination form or may provide record of vaccination from previous employer.
• Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
• Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
• Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
• Ability to secure and maintain a valid UNM Driver's License.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership.
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
Knowledge of medical/forensic investigation policies, procedures, methods, and standards.
Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
Knowledge of all federal and state laws, regulations, guidelines, and standards pertaining to the conduct of forensic/medical investigations.
Employee development and performance management skills.
Ability to work variable hours, to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Ability to travel and work remotely.
