Position Summary

The UNM School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Program Coordinator. If you are a detailed and organized professional who learns newsoftware easily and enjoys interacting with different people, this medical educationposition offers excellent opportunities. Our program coordinator will manage the day-to-day administrative, operational, and fiscal activities of the Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Residency/Fellowship programs. This is a very busy, dynamic position working in a collaborative and friendly team. The medical education program coordinator will serve as an important liaison and facilitator, problem-solver and communicator. Excellent data management and computer/software skills as well as communication skills are required. 
Duties include:

  • Coordinating annual acceptance of doctors into advanced medical training programs--processing applications, scheduling interviews, handling candidate evaluations, and reporting
  • Coordinating clinical rotation schedules
  • Collecting and analyzing required data, maintaining records and evaluations and tracking progress using program-specific software
  • Providing administrative support including preparing agendas, meeting minutes maintaining calendars, correspondence, booking facilities, answering phones
  • Monitoring and administering budgets and payments, reconciling expenses, assisting with travel, purchasing. Will hold a UNM a purchasing card.
  • Coordinating multiple meetings virtual and on-site; planning and organizing orientations, retreats, ceremonies, graduations, and other events

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of complex scheduling, coordinating meetings/events virtually (Zoom) and in-person
  • Ability to determine informational needs, to collect and analyze information, and to devise and develop analyses and reports
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems, effectively balance priorities and meet customer needs
  • Expertise in developing online educational content via learning management systems
  • Experience with medical residency/education program
  • Knowledge of medical education and accreditation andcertification requirements and standards (ACGME)
  • Experience with New Innovations software especially withregards to enhanced applications and report generation
