Position Summary

Project ECHO has an amazing opportunity for a new Programmer Analyst 2 to join our ECHO Digital team! This individual will support Project ECHO’s in-house application, iECHO, to meet the unique needs of ECHO and our partners around the world. The Programmer Analyst 2 will maintain, problem solve, and provide technical guidance for the platform.

Your responsibilities as the Programmer Analyst 2 will include:

·Writing or modifying the application code used by iECHO's Videoconferencing and User Content Upload Services and other Backend services.

·Writing or modifying the application code to integrate iECHO Services with each other and writing application code to integrate with other third parties, such as Zoom Videoconferencing. Researching new system integrations for iECHO, when required.

·Developing the iECHO static public website pages using existing Frontend framework and may work on making the pages more dynamic.

·Analyzing problems observed in structured and semi-structured databases and collaborating with the other ECHO Digital team members on solutions.

·Providing support for iECHO bug fixes, as well as new features.

  • Working with the Quality Assurance Engineer to implement thorough testing strategies, including unit tests, integration tests, and system tests to ensure that application remains robust as it evolves.

·Discussing requirements with stakeholders, the product team, and project management to better understand their objectives and examining requirement documents such as use cases, user stories, and functional specifications. Asking probing inquiries to discover underlying needs and priorities and following the product team's suggestions for prioritizing needs based on business value, urgency, and technical feasibility.

·Working with the product management, research, evaluation, and data teams to understand user and reporting needs and analyze company objectives and creating solutions for all squads supported by the ECHO US Team.

  • Collaboratively designing and implementing Continuous Improvement Projects, using "Agile" methodologies.

·Creating clear, detailed, and user-friendly documentation, including user manuals, step-by-step guides, FAQs, and troubleshooting tips. Ensuring the documentation is accessible and easy to understand for users of varying technical backgrounds.

  • Collecting feedback from support team/product team to identify areas for improvement and providing ongoing support to address any issues or questions that arise.

·Enhancing software development skills via continual learning and community engagement, with the help and guidance of the Programmer Lead.

·Participating in software engineering webinars, courses, conferences.

  • Presenting short topics or lessons to colleagues, when required.

·Providing technical support for iECHO, iECHO Legacy, SimpleSAMLPHP, and SSOSync.

  • Assisting with documentation after resolution to ensure knowledge is captured for the future.

We work with partners all over the world and work hours outside of normal business hours may be required. We are fortunate to have access to advanced technology, which will require some teleworking.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge with Java
  • Experience using any or multiple of the following programs/programming languages: SQL, PHP, REST API, GoLang, Spring Boot, Git, and Docker
