Position Summary | The Department of Neurology seeks an epilepsy Research Coordinator to be part of the Clinical Research Team. This is a term position that will assist and support research investigator-initiated projects and participate in industry-sponsored experimental therapeutic trials for the Department of Neurology. This position requires experience with the following: · Coordinating clinical research studies, clinical trials or community-based research studies with all populations, including Hispanic and/or Native American communities · Assisting with IRB submissions, patient recruitment and retention, and data collection and maintenance · Knowledge of good clinical and community practices in conducting research · Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of university and community stakeholders. Depending on the study, these stakeholders might include: community groups, county or tribal health boards, community health care providers, funding agencies, university researchers, and media representatives Additionally, this position will be response for a broad range of duties which include but are not limited to: · Assessment of research subjects · Recruitment and retention of research subjects · Assisting with clinical trial and research coordination · Data management and entry · Research study management and monitoring Lastly, this position will be responsible for coordinating with research studies in accordance with established study protocols and federal, local, and institutional policies and guidelines, and ensuring regulatory maintenance and clinical trial compliance. This position will primarily be based at the Clinical Neurosciences Center, Epilepsy and Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of UNM Hospital and may require overnight stay with sedated epilepsy patients in the ICU as required by study protocols. This is a staff position and does not meet the criteria for J-1 visa category nor can the department support sponsorship of a work visa. See the Position Description for additional information. |

Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
