Position Summary
PLEASE NOTE: This position is for theUNM-Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west ofAlbuquerque, NM.
University of New Mexico-Gallup Branch,Business & Applied Technology Division, anticipates hiring adjunct facultyto teach face-to-face and/or develop lower division courses (100-200 level) in the Summer and Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters in the following anticipated potentialdisciplines:
Alternative Construction
Layout & Framing
NCCER Core
Exterior Finishing
Cabinet Building
Concrete Pouring & Finishing
Blueprint Reading
The University of New Mexico established branch colleges toprovide the highest quality of education for students pursuing post-secondaryeducation at different locations throughout the state. Branch colleges respondspecifically to the unique needs and multicultural backgrounds of theirrespective communities by offering community education programs, career andtechnical education including certificate and associate degree programs, andtransfer programs that prepare students for upper division entry into collegesand universities.
The Business & Applied Technology Division at UNM Gallup Branch is seekingqualified temporary part-time faculty members to teach lower division classesin various courses or topics as specified above. UNM Gallup instructors areresponsible for all aspects of any class they are teaching including but notlimited to meeting face-to-face with the class during assigned times that mayinclude evenings or weekends, content delivery, assignment development, gradingassignments, reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning asoutlined by the division chair.
Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by studentenrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven bygraduation requirements.Positions may be filled or eliminated eachsemester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to thedivision chair.
Wages
Adjunct Faculty are currently compensated on the basis of their credentials andcredit hour course loads, as follows:

Bachelor's Degree, plus 12 hours College teaching$920.95
Bachelor's Degree, less than 12 hours College teaching$881.92
Experience at Journeyman$920.95

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate's degree inConstruction Technology or related trades area and three years' experience working in the construction industry OR five years' workexperience at the supervisory level within the construction industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Industry-recognizedcredentials (i.e., OSHA 10, NCCER Core).
• Industry-related licensing.
• Experience developing anddelivering instructional materials and information in a classroom settingat either the secondary or post-secondary level.
• A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success,as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
