Position Summary | TheDepartmentofTeacherEducation,EducationalLeadership,andPolicy(TEELP)at theUNMCollegeofEducationandHumanSciencesinvitesapplicationsforaVisiting Lecturer II/IIIPrincipalResidencypilotwill support the instruction and coaching/field supervision for the principal residents. This position will commence in summer 2024. The UNM CollegeofEducation and Human Sciences, comprised offive academic departments,isafuture-oriented,dynamicprofessionalschoolorganizedtoreflectthe followingvalues:Advocacy,Building Professional Identities,Collaboration,Building School/University Partnerships, Diversity and SocialJustice, Interdisciplinary Inquiry/Scholarship, and Teaching, Learning and Leadership. Responsibilities The Visiting Lecturer II/III Principal Residency will assume responsibility of teaching courses within the principal residency and serving as the coach for the principal residents. |
Qualifications | MinimumQualifications:·Earned Master’sor Doctoraldegree in educational leadership, or closely related field, with evidenceofexpertiseinfieldexperience,clinicalteachingpracticeorrelatedarea,by the appointed start date no later than August 2024. ·Minimumofthree(3)yearsofexperienceteachinginpublicelementary(gradesK-8) and/or secondary (grades 7-12) schools in the U.S. ·Minimum of 3 years as a principal/educational leadership position in a public-school setting in the U.S. ·Evidenceofsupervisionand/orfieldexperiencesinfieldandclinicalteaching practice, or relatedareaORexperience in school leadership position with supervisoryresponsibilities. PreferredQualifications:·Minimumoffive(5)yearsofexperienceteachinginpublicelementary(gradesK-8) and/or secondary (grades 7-12) schools in the U.S. ·Minimum of five (5) years as a principal/educational leadership position in a U.S. public school. ·Evidence of excellence or potential for excellence in teaching. ·Demonstratedcommitmenttoandexperienceindiversity,equity,inclusion,and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities. ·Evidenceofexcellenceorthepotentialforexcellenceinteachinginpost-secondary, research-oriented settings. ·Theoreticalknowledgeof,andpracticalexperiencewith,thedesignandteachingof culturallyandlinguisticallyrelevantcurriculumtostudentsfromdiverselinguistic, cultural, rural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. ·Experiencebuildingpartnershipsbetweenhighereducation,publicschoolsand communities in support of leadership preparation. ·Theoreticalknowledgeof,andpracticalexperiencewithprofessionaldevelopment programs for novice and experienced principals and school-based leaders. |
