Position Summary The purpose of this position is to provide safe, clean, and comfortable living and learning environments in the residence halls and student life facilities of the University of North Carolina Asheville community. This position is highly visible throughout the department and the University. This position interacts on a frequent basis with students, staff, faculty, and visitors. This position is responsible for general housekeeping in residence halls and student life areas of the University. Position also assists in maintenance, floor care, furniture setups, and other responsibilities to a lesser degree. All Housing and Residence Life employees are expected to serve as positive representatives of the department and the University.

Minimum Education/Experience/Skills Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require special licenses or certification.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills - High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years housekeeping experience in residential or educational setting.
- Extensive knowledge of all aspects of housekeeping
- Some knowledge of basic maintenance skills, changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, etc.
Work Schedule and Hours Typical hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Due to nature of position and departmental needs there will be occasional work hours on weekends scheduled in advance. There may be changes in weekly and weekend schedule as needed. All Housing and Residence Life staff are designated as University Critical Personnel in accordance with UNC Asheville policy.
