Primary Purpose Of Organizational UnitThe UNC Adams School of Dentistry Division of Comprehensive Oral Health houses several disciplines including, Periodontology, Dental Hygiene, Comprehensive Dentistry, Operative Dentistry/BioMaterials, Prosthodontics, and Endodontics. The Division of Comprehensive Oral Health works seamlessly across multiple specialties to ensure patients experience frictionless oral health care treatment.
Position SummaryA SIGN -ON BONUS OF $2,000 IS AVAILABLE FOR THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT FOR THIS POSITION PAID IN 2 INSTALLMENTS WITHIN 12 MONTHS OF HIRE .
$1,000 WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE DATE AND $1,000 12 MONTHS AFTER HIRE DATE .The Dental Assistant Supervisor position will supervise, hire, plan, organize and monitor the work of the other dental assistants in the Periodontology and Prosthodontics Graduate Clinics. This position assists clinical faculty in training dental, dental auxiliary, and graduate specialty students in clinical practice and help manage the day-to-day operations of the Graduate Clinics. This position schedules the work of dental assistants and provides dental assisting in support of the department. This position supervises ordering, stocking and inventory management of clinical supplies.
The Dental Assistant Supervisor is responsible for implementing and monitoring compliance and training assistants on the following:
Required Qualifications, Competencies, And ExperienceThis position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work with and exercise tact and diplomacy with a variety of people, including staff, students, faculty and patients. Strong professionalism, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work on many projects simultaneously, to negotiate for successful results, and to thrive in a fast-paced setting while providing excellent customer service, a must.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And ExperienceMinimum of two years of chairside dental assisting experience.
Preference for experience working in a team environment, with periodontal patients and/or supporting surgical procedures.
At least one year of lead/supervisory experience.
Required Licenses/CertificationsSpecial Physical/Mental Requirements Campus Security Authority ResponsibilitiesNot Applicable.
Position/Schedule Requirements Clinic – UNCH or ACC, Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens, Exposure to Hazardous Materials, Patient care involved
