Position SummaryThis position serves as the Individual Placement and Support ( IPS )/Supported Employment and Education ( SEE ) Peer Specialist with the Encompass First Episode Psychosis Program. Encompass aims to provide exceptional care and treatment to adolescents and young adults from 15-30 years of age with recent onset psychosis, or individuals at risk for psychosis in Wake County and beyond. The Encompass Program is a coordinated specialty care clinic. Utilizing a team approach, Encompass provides wrap-around services to a diverse group of clients from various socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We recognize that employment and education are critical pieces of many individuals’ recovery journey, and also value the unique and impactful role that Peer Specialists play in that process.
This position will primarily focus on serving individuals and families in Vance, Granville, and Franklin counties as part of an expansion of the existing Encompass Program located in Raleigh. The IPS / SEE Peer Specialist will implement recovery-focused interventions and offer a range of supports including supported employment and education interventions using the evidence-based Individual Placement and Support Model to assist individuals in pursuing their personal goals around school and work. Some interventions may be delivered virtually; however, the majority of the services will be provided in the community, within the prioritized service area of Vance, Granville and Franklin counties.
Minimum Education And Experience RequirementsAssociate’s degree in a related Human Services discipline and two years of experience related to the area of assignment, or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
  • Must be a NC Certified Peer Support Specialist ( CPSS ).
  • Must have a valid NC Driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Driving a state vehicle may be required.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must work well on a team.
  • Must be dependable.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
  • Experience providing supported employment preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing psychosis preferred.
  • Experience in community-based settings preferred.
