What You'll Do:

Contributes to research design and implementation, including human subjects procedures, conference proposals and presentations, and publications; conducts secondary research and literature reviews; coordinates with external evaluators to create needs assessments and evaluation rubrics based on research conducted; designs and implements research-based, online (asynchronous and synchronous) professional learning related to supporting multilingual learners in ESL and content area classes; and teaches one TESOL or LANG course per semester (e.g., language teaching methods, bilingualism and bilingual education) to undergraduate and graduate students.

This is a two-year term position, with possibility to extend to a third year. This position is funded by a National Professional Development grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of English Language Acquisition

What You Need:

Doctorate degree in education, educational linguistics, TESOL or applied linguistics required.

ABDs will be considered. Degree must be conferred prior to start date.

At least two years of teaching experience in a K-12 setting, online education, teacher preparation, and/or professional development; relevant experience and scholarship in one or more of the following key grant areas: supporting multilingual learners in ESL and/or content area classes, family/community engagement, or teacher preparation/professional development for working with multilingual learners; ability to work both independently and collaboratively; and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
