University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center is Hiring a Laboratory Technician Near Oklahoma, OK

The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City has an opening for a full-time Research Technician.

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join a collaborative and multidisciplinary team of scientists and clinicians focused on newborn health and disease research. The candidate will join a lab using state-of-the-art technologies and experimental animal and cell models to identify molecular influences of bronchopulmonary dysplasia in infants. The research technician will support the team by conducting research experiments, collecting data and samples, keeping records, maintaining lab organization, conducting literature searches, analyzing data, and preparing reports.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, or other health-related field. Will accept 48 months equivalent experience in lieu of the Bachelor’s Degree.

Skills: Knowledge of foundational biology concepts; knowledge of laboratory procedures; knowledge of the proper handling of chemicals and biohazardous materials; ability to perform mathematical calculations in different units of measurement; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or other relevant programs; detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills; and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Preferences: Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills; detail-oriented, highly organized and meticulous to ensure accuracy of data collection and recording; and willingness to learn new techniques, analysis methods and initiative to solve problems; knowledge of graphical software and statistical approaches.

Salary: Targeted salary at $38,000 annually based on experience excellent benefits
