University of Oklahoma - Information Technology is Hiring a Plumbing Operations Manager Near Norman, OK
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise daily operations of the Plumbing Shop, ensuring adherence to departmental policies
- Coordinate maintenance and construction work by assigning tasks to team members
- Oversee staff recruitment, training, and performance management
- Ensure availability of supplies, materials, and equipment for projects
- Develop and implement internal operating procedures
- Prepare project estimates and reports on operational activities
- Conduct inspections to ensure safety and quality standards are met
- Troubleshoot problems and perform maintenance repairs
- Communicate with university representatives, vendors, and agencies
- Enforce health and safety practices among supervised personnel
- High School diploma or equivalent with 24 months of supervisory experience and 72 months of plumbing experience
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to interpret written instructions and perform computations
- Knowledge of pipe-fitting, steam, and plumbing practices
- Supervisory skills to effectively lead and direct staff
- Valid Driver's license
- Plumbing Contractor's license (to be obtained on behalf of the University)
- Boiler Operator's license (or obtain within six months of employment)
- Various physical activities including climbing, digging, bending, lifting, and operating equipment
- Proficiency in working under different weather conditions and heavy lifting tasks
