Job Description SummaryThe search will remain open until the position has been filled. First consideration will be given to applications received by June 7, 2024. Basic FunctionUnder the supervision of the Cooperative Extension Director, Associate Director, and State 4-H Program Leader, be responsible for supporting the 4-H Club and Volunteer system. This includes recruitment, screening, and training of new 4-H volunteers; recruitment, chartering, online enrollment, and maintenance of 4-H clubs; managing club financial end of year summaries: managing partnerships with schools and youth group agencies. Assist with 4-H communications including content development and management of URI social media accounts, managing the URI 4-H Google group email list, and producing a quarterly 4-H newsletter.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesSupport and recruit 4-H clubs and after-school groups including the training of teachers, agency personnel, and 4-H volunteers.
Recruit, screen, support, and train new 4-H volunteers and provide agency/school staff with training in 4-H curricula, policies, and procedures.
Recruit, charter, online enroll, and maintain 4-H clubs; managing club financial end of year summaries.
Assist in the coordination of the 4-H management online data system (Zsuite), including record creation and updating.
Assist in communications through the 4-H calendar of events, website, social media, online quarterly newsletter, and other communication tools.
Maintain accurate records and compile program participation reports and contact management data. Prepare and submit 4-H programmatic reports when directed.
Coordinate office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies.
Manage phone calls and correspondence from existing and prospective new clients (e-mail, letters, Facebook).
Support budgeting and bookkeeping procedures.
Track stocks of office supplies and create a list to be ordered.
Submit timely reports and prepare presentations/proposals as assigned.
Other Duties And ResponsibilitiesWork occasional nights and weekends as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Licenses, Tools, And EquipmentComputers and printers; word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
RequiredRequired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum two years’ work experience in office management, non-profit management, youth organizations, or schools.
  • Demonstrated experience in the training, support, and supervision of adult volunteers.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and/or utilize evaluation tools and to market accomplishments and program outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
  • Must provide own transportation.
PreferredPreferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience as a volunteer in a not-for-profit youth organization.
