University of Richmond is Hiring a Sr. Manager for Communications and Programming - 501650 Near Richmond, VA

SummaryThe Sr. Communications Manager is responsible for all internal and external communications for the Career Services team to support the mission and vision of the office, as well as the university.
This role will be in charge of the creation, implementation, and evaluation of the office’s print and digital marketing, graphic design, web development, social media, photography, videography, and more. Responsible for new learning technology content integration and oversight.
This role serves on the leadership team, reports to the Assistant Vice President, supervises the Program Manager, and works closely with the Career Advising, Experiential Learning, and Employer Relations teams.
ResponsibilitiesCommunications
  • Act as brand manager and define the communications strategy for the Career Services team for the University of Richmond
  • Provide input and content for University Outcomes website, Magazine, and UR Now
  • Create, implement, and evaluate all internal and external communications for various audiences for the Career Services team (students, alumni, employers, faculty, staff, etc.), including digital marketing, graphic design, web development, social media, photography, videography, and more. This includes a large volume of annual programs and events (over 100), on-campus recruiting opportunities, and jobs and internships.
  • Design and implement facility visuals and exhibit in three office locations
  • Heighten the office’s industry reputation by submitting award proposals for professional organizations and partnering with the campus media relations team to provide expert commentary to local and national publications
  • Promote student and alumni outcomes to internal and external audiences through various communication channels university-wide
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the University of Richmond Communications team, as well as work closely with other campus
Technology and Reporting
  • Work directly with the Assistant Vice President, leadership and assessment teams to develop executive communications, including annual reports and presentations
  • Promote how Career Services goals and metrics align with division and university priorities
  • Oversee key software platform integration and learning tools with reporting and academic applications
Management and Supervision
  • Directly supervise, hire, and train Program Manager, as well as three student assistants
  • Define performance expectations and provide evaluation and professional development opportunities
Qualifications
  • Strategic planning and visioning
  • Communications, marketing best practices and strategies
  • Publication, web development software
  • University/college operations
  • Excellent communications skills with experience in a variety of technologies; proofreading/editing
  • Proficient in web communications and graphic software. Experience with the following applications preferred: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver) and Microsoft
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with clear attention to

  • Familiarity with higher education environment and career services for students
  • Experience with supervision of staff preferred
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
  • At least five to seven years related experience or combination of education and experience that demonstrates skills and abilities required for the job
Work Hours
  • Full-time, exempt position
  • Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; 7.75 hrs./day; 38.75 hrs./week; some evening and weekends expected
Salary StructurePay Grade 7 (Hiring Range $55,640.00 to $73,736.00 annually)
