University of Rochester is Hiring a Staff Psychologist Near Medicine, NE

Opening Full Time 40 hours Range URG 113 Neuroscience
Schedule 8 AM-4:30 PM
Responsibilities GENERAL PURPOSE : Provides psychological services to members in the University through counseling and psychotherapy, teaching, training, consulting and research.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • As part of an ongoing expansion in Neuroscience, we seek outstanding applicants with extensive experience in the assessment of individuals with developmental disabilities. The capabilities listed below are central to clinical and translational research conducted by Intellectual and Developmental Disability Research Center (IDDRC investigators).
  • Responsibilities include the following:
  • Under general guidance and with latitude for exercising independent clinical judgment, performs research related activities. Responsibilities include most or all of the following, as well as other related duties:
  • Oversees and provides assessment fidelity monitoring processes; conducts developmental and behavioral assessments; leads assessment training program.
  • Works closely with University faculty to provide high quality phenotyping and clinical assessment services, along with comprehensive resources for research design consultation, subject recruitment, and investigator training.
  • Serves as director of the IDDRC Community Outreach Board. This board serves the greater Rochester community by providing opportunities for mutual collaboration between IDD researchers, community members and stakeholders. Collaboration involves sharing research findings back to the community so that community members have the opportunity to learn and share their own insight and knowledge.
  • Contributes to the writing of research proposals, preparation of regulatory documentation required for performance of research. Writes protocols for the conduct of research, which include: purposes of study, design of experiments, lists of materials and methods to be used and the schedule of activities.
  • Interviews, trains, supervises and evaluates staff. Directs initial training as well as continuous skill development of staff/trainees in laboratory techniques and instrumentation procedures. Counsels staff/trainees on technical problems; advises and assists staff/trainees with special research projects.
  • Keeps abreast of trends in field of interest by reading current research literature, abstracting scientific articles of value in the prosecution of research problems, and attending and presenting at scientific meetings, seminars and research conferences, including weekly lab meetings.
Other projects and duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS : Master’s degree in Counselor Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or closely related field and 2-3 years of schooling in a doctoral program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Doctorate degree preferred. Eligible for licensure in New York is preferred. Particular consideration will be given to individuals whose work has relevance in the domain of intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Pay Range Pay Range: $ 77,216 - $115,824 Annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
