The Support Coordinator will assist with all aspects of patient care, coordinating clinic schedules, patient appointments, and follow-ups.

Responsibilities include answering patient phone calls, verifying insurance benefits, preparing charts, and charge tickets for clinic visits.

The role also involves scheduling surgeries and diagnostic testing, sending pre-op packets, preparing surgery charge tickets, and compiling letters of medical necessity.

The Support Coordinator will assist with office clerical duties and act as a liaison between the clinic and referring physicians.

Essential Duties :

  • Clerical duties including thorough understanding of computer systems (e.g., Cerner), processing new referrals, scheduling appointments, and managing clinic schedules to ensure operational flow.
  • Customer service by greeting patients, providing information, and assisting with financial assessments and insurance queries.
  • Teamwork by covering for staff absences and maintaining open communication with management and peers.
  • Clinical duties (if performing MA duties) including preparing patients for examinations and recording vital signs.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year experience in a medical office or ambulatory care environment.
  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Comfortable with computers and medical terminology; knowledgeable of various insurance types.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Graduate from an approved Medical Assistant Program with Diploma / Certificate (if performing MA duties).
  • Familiarity with word processing, scheduling systems, and insurance billing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association (if performing MA duties).

Required Licenses / Certifications :

Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) required within 30 days of hire if no card upon hire.

The hourly rate range for this position is $25.00 - $39.69. Various factors are considered when extending an offer of employment.
