University of Tennessee, Knoxville University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc. The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc (UTFI) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of Associate Director of Development, Haslam College of Business (HCB) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Reporting to the Interim Executive Director of Advancement, the Associate Director of Development is responsible for identifying, cultivating and successfully soliciting HCB friends and alumni to give to the Haslam College of Business College Fund.
ResponsibilitiesAdditionally, this role will assist in the facilitation of stewardship and cultivation activities and programs that engage donors and prospects. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Front Line Fundraising: Identify and solicit charitable contributions from friends and alumni of the Haslam College of Business. Collaborate with advancement team members in support of prospective major and planned gifts. Serve as the lead for the Dean’s Circle giving society, managing efforts to identify and solicit new members.
Stewardship: Collaborate with HCB and UT Knoxville advancement colleagues to maintain and enhance relationships with existing donors, ensuring ongoing engagement through tailored stewardship.
Event Management : Assist in facilitation of annual events and programs, such as Haslam Connects, the Young Alumni Board, annual Haslam College Gala, as well as the Senior Impact, Big Orange Give, and Big Orange Family campaigns.

Required Education And Experience
  • The candidate who fills the Associate Director of Development position is required to have:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years in a development position or an external position related to development, such as sales, marketing or financial planning
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally and across the state of Tennessee
A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required due to travel responsibilities of the position. UTFI reserves the right to consider all appropriate circumstances.In general, any significant driving offense less than 12 months old will eliminate the application from consideration for the position.
Note - Candidates holding a graduate degree must have at least 1 year of experience.
Preferred Education And ExperienceIn addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have:
  • Higher education development/advancement experience
